Lacey SC and Cedar Stars Academy open tryout registration is held every Spring in preparation for the Fall season. Cedar Stars Academy Ocean provides a pathway to the highest levels of youth soccer on both the girls and the boys side.

This is the sign-up for tryouts to both travel and premier teams. Both levels will be evaluated at the same time with each birth year and gender getting their own time slot. The specific dates and times for each group should be posted on the LSC website.

Our travel program is still available as it has been for the last 50 years. The travel program is for children ages 7 through 17 who have moved on from the recreational program. Teams will typically play in both the Fall and Spring seasons in the MOSA league. These games are played in Monmouth and Ocean County and the seasons are traditionally 10 weeks long.

With the addition of Cedar Stars Ocean to the Lacey Soccer Club, your child may qualify to make one of the higher-level teams. These teams require a commitment from the players that is necessary to develop the skills needed to play in the competitive leagues. Parents should know that the commitment for the academy-level teams is higher than the travel program and away games may require travel outside of our immediate area. If you have already decided that premier-level soccer is not for you or your family, please let us know when you check in at tryouts.

If your child makes either a premier or travel team, you will receive an acceptance email and be prompted to complete the registration. You will have 72 hrs to complete the registration and hold your place on the team. Premier team acceptance emails will be sent first, followed by travel team invitations. In the event that we are unable to conduct tryouts, the LSC board will form the teams from the available player pool registered in Sports Connect with the coach's input based on the prior season's performance.
