About our Club

A message from the Lacey Soccer Club President:

4/19/21

I wanted to reach out as we prepare for our tryouts to begin.

The past year has been challenging on so many levels.  Closures and restrictions changed the way we operated at work, school, home, in sports and socially.  Lacey Soccer worked through the pandemic to make sure we were back on the fields as soon as we received clearance.  The health of our players and families will always be our top priority.  Thanks to the efforts of our volunteers, and your families, we played a full season in the fall.  Most importantly, we were able to stay healthy with no reported transmission of the covid-19 virus within our program.  Our spring season is already underway.  And while many challenges remain, we have been able to push forward and play games without having major interruptions for health concerns.

We have worked hard to support soccer in Lacey, and the surrounding areas.  Our teams currently play in three leagues, Ocean County Recreational, MOSA and EDP.  We're proud to provide a level of competition for all children.  We also make sure that each of those options is as cost effective as possible.  Soccer should be accessible to all children and we strive to achieve that goal.

There are some important first steps the LSC exec board is currently working on.  First, we need to get your soccer players registered to try out.  Second, if you're interested in "playing up" you need to submit that request to the travel VPs (Brian Clancy - [email protected] and Ryan Conaty - [email protected]).  These two pieces of information are vital to building your child's soccer experience for Fall 2021/Spring 2022.  As a board we will explore all options to build teams.  We have good people involved for the right reasons.

To the families of players, teams and our club, I say thank you.  Your support is the backbone of our club.  We are volunteers and could not do what we do without your help.  While we continue to build it's important to keep lines of communication open.  Coaches - have conversations your teams and families.  You'd be amazed at how much can be learned and shared with a quick team meeting.

For those of you considering Lacey Soccer as a new "soccer home" please do not hesitate to reach out.  We would love to have the opportunity to speak with you.  Please email me ([email protected]) with any questions.

President
Lacey Soccer Club

Welcome to the Lacey Soccer Club website.  My name is Michael Ring and I am the new President of the LSC. Our new Executive Board is in place and working hard to bring you the best soccer programs in the area.  We recognize the challenges families face in today’s world, each board member has children in the club or is a volunteer coach.  Our goal is to give your families a place to play, grow, and have fun while learning the game of soccer.

I began as a parent-coach on the sideline 7 years ago, having never played.  Since then my daughters have both played in the club, I’ve played in our adult co-ed league, held several positions on the board and can still be found on the sideline coaching my daughter.  While much has changed in those years the one constant I’ve always been impressed with is the community.  The families I’ve met, the friends my children have made.  These are the reasons I stayed involved with the club.

Sports can provide a much needed outlet in trying times.  We’ll continue, with your help, to provide a safe and fun environment for you and your soccer players.  We’ll search out and provide the best programs for the families of Lacey and the surrounding communities, with safety being our first priority.

The new board is full of smart and vibrant people ready to create success.  Lacey Soccer has a long history and strong foundation to build on (49 years!) allowing us to make informed but bold decisions.  I’m honored to have the opportunity to serve with the board as the club's new President. I’m looking forward to seeing you all at the parks and enjoying another year with the Lacey Soccer Club.

Thank you,
Michael Ring
LSC President 2021
