Please see the latest update from New Jersey Youth Soccer:

As of Friday, May 28, Governor Murphy has followed guidance and direction from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the New Jersey Department of Health which removes nearly all restrictions regarding Return To Play as it pertains to the COVID-19 pandemic.
NJYS continues to encourage everyone involved in youth soccer to be vigilant in practicing the common sense health activities that reduce the risk of transmitting all infectious diseases, including coronavirus. These include:
• Washing your hands thoroughly and frequently
• Covering coughs and sneezes
• Staying home if you are feeling ill.
NJYS will continue to monitor guidance from public health officials and the Governor’s Office of New Jersey and will advise its membership on all relevant changes in a timely manner.

NJYS Clubs/Coaches,

On Monday, March 29, 2021, Governor Phil Murphy signed Executive Order No. 234 which expands the general outdoor gathering limit from 50 to 200 people, beginning 6 a.m. on Friday, April 2. We will provide a link to Executive Order No. 234 when it becomes available.

With this expansion, the 200-person person limit can now include other spectators besides the necessary participants such as coaches, players, officials and two parents/guardians per player.

The prohibition on interstate indoor sports activities previously established by the Governor will remain in effect.

We remind everyone to continue to observe all public health protocols which includes:

  • Conducting appropriate pre-game health checks
  • Wearing masks when appropriate and
  • Maintaining social distancing among all participants while at our soccer fields. Players should always wear masks except when playing in the game.

As you know, the COVID-19 response will continue to evolve and information is expected to change quickly. NJ Youth Soccer will continue to follow the guidance from state and health officials and communicate these changes in a timely manner.

We understand the challenge this may pose for parents and, nonetheless, urge us all to adhere to these parameters that currently provide an opportunity for players to train and compete during this difficult time.

Thank you for your continued support of youth soccer.

NJYS COVID Return to Play

Hello Lacey Soccer Club families,

We hope you are all healthy during these unprecedented times.  New Jersey Youth Soccer (NJYS) has been issuing guidelines to follow through the last few months and has indefinitely postponed soccer activities. They will release further guidance on 5/17.

As the Federal, State and local quarantine orders remain in place and affect our programs, we have made some very difficult decisions.

Instructional Soccer:

The Spring Instructional/Munchkin soccer seasons are canceled.  A hard decision, but we’re confident it’s the right one.  We’ll be issuing refunds in May, and are working on the logistics now. Specific information will be along by 5/12/20. Watch for an email, posts to our Facebook page, and updates on our website.

We are exploring weekly training opportunities once restrictions are lifted - using a pay as you go, attend when you can format. More to come as we get closer to a return to play date.

Travel Soccer:

US Youth Soccer and NJYS restrictions have EDP and MOSA travel seasons on hold through May 17. Both leagues will provide additional information on/around May 17.

The process to form travel teams for the Fall 2020 season will move forward. If you’re interested in playing, please click here to register.  As with all other activities, tryouts have been postponed and additional information will follow as restrictions are lifted.

We appreciate your support and understanding as we address community health concerns and uncertainty, and their influence on our programs. We will continue to provide updates via email, Facebook, and Stay safe and healthy.

Good afternoon Lacey Soccer families.

We hope you are all navigating the “new normal” as best as possible.  Lacey Soccer remains committed to the health and well being of our community and families.  We continue to monitor the rapidily changing situation.

The township has notified us that all parks will remain closed until 4/30/20.  The email indicated their desire to bring normalcy back to youth sports this spring.  They are continuing to “do (their) best to continue to prepare the parks for sports when they resume.  We just don't know when that we be.”

We hope to have a season beginning in early May.  In our efforts to reach that goal we are considering options to get the kids on the fields.  Our instructional program will be outlined as soon as we have a start date. The travel program will be based on league decisions (IE MOSA, EDP).  As we move into May we’ll know what they plan on providing.

The social distancing method is helping, but we must remain strongly committed to the efforts.  Please remember to keep the recommended 6 feet of space between you, or your children, and people you’re interacting with.  Also, it is very important that teams are not meeting and/or practicing. Remember, we’re all in this together. Help protect the loved ones of the families on your child’s team by following the CDC recommendations.

Please reach out with any questions.  We’ll continue working to build Lacey Soccer with your help and support.

Stay healthy and safe.

As you are all aware by now all schools in the district are closed through April 9th.  This rolls into the Spring Break scheduled to begin April 10th.  At this point the first day back to a normal school schedule will be 4/20/2020.

Please click here to read a statement from the township regarding public buildings and park use.

We will work to keep the schedule as normal as possible once the kids are back to school.  As the situation evolves, and with any new information, we will update our membership.

While the schools are closed we encourage you to find ways to keep your players engaged.  The wealth of knowledge available in a click is amazing.  Use it to your advantage.  Simple, small skills drills are easy to find, set up and execute.  Be creative with your player’s time outside and perhaps a little lenient if they want extra time to play.  These will be new and trying times for them, excersice and fun will help ease their minds.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns.

Thank you all for your continued support of the Lacey Soccer Club.  We appreciate your patience with us as we work through the rapidly changing situation.

We continue to monitor the recommendations of USYS, NJYS as well as State and Federal Health Departments.  We’d like to share the most recent updated information below.

  • We are regulated by the township guidelines as follows:  “if and when the Ocean County Health Department closes the Lacey School District, all youth & adult sports will be mandated to suspend operation until the Schools reopen.  This will include all meetings, practices, games, and any other gathering of their membership.”

  • The MOSA season has been suspended.  According to correspondence with the MOSA Board the new targeted date for the season to begin is April 19th. ALL EDP League and EDP Futures games will be SUSPENDED through the end of March 2020.  The next update for EDP will be on Friday, March 27, 2020 per their website.

  • All LSC activities are also suspended until at least April 1 or until further notice.  Our guideline for practices and training will be determined and communicated by email/LSC website/FB page as needed.  We request your patience considering this evolving situation and some decisions will have to be made with short notice.

  • Instructional start date will be moved to the week of April 19th.  First practices will be Thursday 4/23 with 1st games on 4/25.

  • Scheduling adjustments needed for any other events will be announced as soon as possible.

Please contact us with any questions or concerns you may have.
